We created this list to make sure you are all good. Because being prepared for the BIG DAY will give you one less thing to stress about!
Throughout the last few weeks:
Short naps throughout the day, if and when possible
Listen to relaxation affirmation tracks at least once a day
Wechat message to your doula after your appointments
Keep up with your water intake
Eat fruit that can help with water intake such as watermelon, apples, and avocados
Go on dates with your partner
Have self-care
At 35 weeks:
Take maternity photos
Create a birth plan with your partner
Order your breast pump
Choose a pediatrician
Buy pads and postpartum materials, bottles for baby
Review your birth plan with your doctor/ midwife
Buy baby wrap or carrier
At 36 weeks:
Wash all of baby’s clothes and sheets with baby detergent
Pelvic rocks two to three times a day to prevent back labor
Take a childbirth education classes, if you haven’t already
Stock up on pantry and household items
Give your partner a list of who to call when it’s time
Sterilize bottle, pacifiers, and breast pump
Assemble baby bed/ nursery

At 37 weeks:
Tour hospital and ask what is included in your birth package
Prepare thank you baskets for the nurses (optional)
Confirm babysitter for other children
Install the carseat
Have house deep cleaned (while you’re away getting pampered)

At 38 weeks:
Gentle perineal massage (this should not be a painful process)
Pack your diaper bag
Prepare baby station boxes in your bedroom and living room
Have a self-care day
Prepare side table with breastfeeding friendly snacks

At 39 weeks, 40 weeks:
Continue gentle perineal massage
Relax as much as possible
Remember your estimated due date (EDD) is not set in stone. And yes, most of the items on this list can be prepared early.
